Uploaded the MGM Stargate trailer for 'Broken Ties' to my blog and provided some screen prints from the video.

..and I'm sitting here blubbing slightly over Spandau Ballet's Through the Barricades. :/ Which is stupid. But I seem to find recently that I just can't listen to sad/emotional music without getting upset. Even if the context of the song is bloody well nothing remotely to do with anything that has any relevance to me, just hearing sad music is enough to make me feel weepy, and often actually start weeping. Bloody stupid.

It means I hardly ever listen to music anymore. I am reluctant to listen to CDs cos I don't want to "spoil" them and end up forever associating songs/albums I like with such a sad time of my life (I've made that mistake before by listening to albums I like during a bad period and finding later that whenever I hear one of those songs it reminds me of that bad time) and I don't listen much to the radio either - it's the radio I'm listening to now that for some sodding reason decided to play a sad/emotional song on a Friday evening!

I shoulda stuck with Radio 1 and the non-stop sodding dance music. :lol:

Gosh.

After almost a whole month of being socked in by the smoke by all the wildfires in N. Calif - I looked outside today -- and the sky is blue! And the sun is yellow (it's been this odd burned orange shade lately...).

It's still hot -- 95.

But the blue sky is back!

Yippee!

In an effort to abate the apathy that is my life, a reminder to myself of reasons to be excited:

1. New SGA! Specifically, new episode The Seed in just a couple of days with ( minor The Seed spoilers ) Squeeeeeeeeeeee!! :D

2. New Doctor Who Magazine. It's out one week today and yes it probably is sad to be excited about a magazine but I'm a sad, addicted fangirl and I don't care! :D

3. The Dr Who Prom. In just over a week! Aside from the coolness of going to a classical music concert - and at the Royal Albert Hall no less! - and of going to the Proms for the first time ever, there's Murray Gold's awesome music to look forward to, plus other great classical music, there's Freema hosting the event and various aliens and stuff from the show too AND... best of all... there's the exclusive Doctor Who clip written specially for the event by RTD and starring David Tennant as 10th! :D

4. New TV. I feel like there has been such a TV drought of late, what with the long gap from the strike and just about every US show having a reduced season etc. Doctor Who has filled in the gap nicely but now that's done and just in time SGA has started up again but I'm really looking forward to the new seasons kicking off and once again having a busy schedule of House and SPN and NCIS as well as SGA (Whoah! Few too many acronyms there people!! :D)

5. Mum has suggested we book ourselves a 2-day spa break somewhere to chill out and destress a bit. She's offered to pay for me as a birthday present (although we'll go well before my birthday). I'm really liking the idea. I've really not had any time away (from work or from home) in recent months that hasn't been involved in dealing with all the stuff to do with Helen.

And hey look! One of my reasons doesn't even have anything to do with fandom! :lol: *iz such a sad fandom geek* :D

I don't really have anything to post about, but I figured I'd make one all the same!

- Dr. Horrible is amazing and charming and I love it and now I feel bad for scoffing at the internet's hyping of it in all the weeks before it actually released. SRY INTERNET.

- I should learn to sleep at night!

- My right foot hurts inexplicably.

- Did you know that besides the four basic tastes SOURNESS, BITTERNESS, SWEETNESS, AND SALTINESS that a fifth taste has been scientifically determined to exist? It is called umami and, I am not making this up, it is DELICIOUSNESS. Amazing, right? latropita already posted about this, but I was the one who told her about it SO WHATEVER.

- Starting at 8PM tonight I am disappearing from the internet for two days because, as aforementioned, I am waiting to watch the end of Avatar all at once and it would be pretty lame for me to get spoiled at this late date.

SO...SEE YOU GUYS LATE SATURDAY NIGHT/EARLY SUNDAY MORNING? Unless, of course, torrents/downloads through the finale appear prior to the airing since the final DVD of season three shipped to various persons two days ago. (LOL NICK.)
